IN OTHER NEWS...

Tomorrow night - I'm off to Africa. I'll be there for approximately 3 weeks. I will not be shutting down the club during that time because, from what I understand, I will have internet access while I'm there. My only concern is that I'm going to Africa to work - not to be on vacation. So I don't actually know how much time I'll be able to spend online. I'll try my best to keep things running smoothly, but please keep in mind that things might slow down a bit over here. At the moment there's a huge submission backlog, and just in case things do get a little hairy while I'm in Africa, I'd like to clear those out before I leave. So, I'm sorry to have to spam all your inboxes and that every piece will not get its deserved time on the main page.

Other than that, it's business as usual!

NOW SEND ME YOUR CONTEST ENTRIES!

---------Mission Statement----------

Welcome to all those who share a love for the natural beauty of Canada!

This club is meant to show off the great beauty and inspirational quality of the Canadian wilderness and wildlife. All forms of artwork are welcome; photography, digital art, traditional art, writing - whatever this country has inspired you to create! Please join and share your love for the True North!

Hey everyone, I hate to do this, but I've got to remind you all that the main focus of this club is Canadian wilderness and wildlife. I know that there are a lot of great things worthy of being photographed in our country, but this club is meant to be strictly natural. Some human presence/evidence of human presence is acceptable, but please try to keep it to a minimum. I've uploaded a couple of deviations that have quite a bit of city in them recently, and they will be the last. If your deviation does not have enough natural conent, I will let you know and it will not be included in the gallery. I'm sorry to have to reject the images. Don't take it personally, I just want to make sure that this club stays centred on Canadian wildlife and wilderness.

Okay, just some clarification; Yes, you can have people and buildings in the pictures you submit, just so long as the focus of the image is natural. So, having a picture of a forest with someone walking through it is fine, just like a photo of a field with a farmer's fence is alright as well. Think of it this way, if you go out on a camping trip, there are bound to be some photos where your budies are appearing next to the landscape, or showing off a giant tree trunk, or canoeing/kayaking down a river. Those are alright, because the people are a secondary element in the picture and it's the nature around them that's important. So, always try to think of it as the nature that's important. Any people or buildings can be present, but should be a secondary element.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. And if you have any images you would like to submit, but are unsure about, send them in an I'll let you know. ^_^

:star:Anything submitted to the club MUST BE YOUR OWN ORIGINAL WORK!

:star:Also, when your deviations are uploaded to the club, a link will be placed in the artist's comments section to your copy of the deviation. This will allow others to comment and fav your original work, rather than the copy here.
